THE WIZ

The film adaption for the Broadway musical “The Wiz” was released in 1978 and features many artists on the soundtrack which was chiefly directed and written by Quincy Jones. The track selection includes both the original songs from the musical and new written ones by Jones. It is also the first work collaboration of Quincy and Michael Jackson and turned into a great partnership with the following Hit albums Of the Wall, Thriller and Bad. The soundtrack also features the stars of the film like Diana Ross, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross and many more. In the end the album was more successful then the film and reached gold status in the US.
