Shirley Alston
Shirley Alston was born as Shirle Owens 1941 in Henderson, North Carolina. She was the main lead singer in hit group “The Shirelles” and can be heard on many classic songs.
Her strong and distinctive voice made it through many speakers worldwide with every hit they had. In 1975 she broke up with the band and started a solo career. Under the name “Lady Rose” she produced two albums “With a little help from my friends” and “Lady Rose”. The Shirelles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
