GINGER WILLIAMS
Ginger Williams was born in 1953 in Jamaica and moved to London with her family in 1962.
She is the first lady singing so called “Lovers Rock” which turned love songs into a reggae style.
After she joined the group “Green Mango” in her mid teens, she met Ronny Williams who produced her first single which topped the british soul charts, followed up by more singles that reached the charts.
Her debut album “Strange World” was released in 1977 and she continued to have several Hits out in the charts. In 1996 she got honoured with the compilation album “The First Lady of Lovers Rock”.
Her latest single “Loyalty” was just released in 2020 and we are excited to hear more.
Thank you Ginger Williams!
