CARL DOUGLAS & GEORGE MCCRAE

CARL DOUGLAS & GEORGE MCCRAE

Carl Douglas, born in 1942, is a Jamaican singer who had his biggest hit Kung Fu Fighting in 1974. The song reached number 1 in Germany and Austria as well as in the USA and Great Britain. Very recommendable is the original video on Youtube from one of his performances for this song.

George Warren McCrae, Jr. was born on October 19, 1944 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is a US-American pop and R&B singer who had an international number 1 hit in 1974 with his song "Rock Your Baby". He was one of the first interpreters of disco music in the early 1970s. He achieved a number of great successes worldwide and received 14 gold and eight platinum records for his music.

For fashion as well as for the music of the 70s, the disco era was formative. Whoever deals with the music and hits of the 70s will inevitably come across this genre, whose boundaries to R&B, soul and black music became more and more fluid. "Rock your baby" by George McCrae and Carl Douglas' "Kung fu fighting" were among the first world hits of the disco era in 1974.
