BIG YOUTH

Big Youth was born on April 19, 1949 in Kingston, Jamaica. His civil name is Manley Augustus Buchanan. Especially in the 1970s he became known as a deejay. He is one of the most important exponents of toasting, the chanting of dub tracks that originated in Jamaica. In 1973 he released his first album entitled "Screaming Target", produced by Gussie Clarke, this album is still considered as a classic of its genre.
